PRINCIPAL MESSAGE
Dear Polk School Parents and Community,
We want to welcome you to Polk School for the 2022-23 school year. We look forward to seeing all of you as we prepare to provide you and your students with a great learning experience. Due to the renovation and extensive construction updates to Polk School, we want to provide you with some helpful information to start this school year:
First we want to share some important dates for starting the school year:
August 10th - 12th - Polk Registration Help from 8:00 am - noon.
Tuesday (8/16/22) - Polk Ribbon Cutting @ 6:00 - 7:00 pm: All community members are welcome to attend the Ribbon Cutting Ceremony. There will also be a self-guide tour as part of the Ribbon Cutting Ceremony. Come and check-out our new beautiful building!
Wednesday (8/17/22) - Back-to-School Night @ 5:00 - 6:30 pm: Student class assignments will be given out. Parents and students can check-out their classrooms and meet their teachers. Registration help will also be available.
Friday (8/19/22) - First day of school (1st-6th Grade): We will ask all parents to say goodbye to their students outside on the first day of school. All students will enter the East Main doors. Teachers and staff will escort your child to their classrooms. We do this to help keep the classrooms calm and quiet so the students can have the teacher’s undivided attention. Thank you for your help and understanding.
Friday (8/26/22) - First day of school (Preschool & Kindergarten).
Our daily schedule will be as follows:
Monday - Thursday: 8:20 am - 2:55 pm
Fridays: 8:20 am - 12:20 pm
We are asking all parents who drop-off/pick-up students to use our drop-off/pick-up lane. The right lane is used only for unloading students. The left lane is used only for a pull-through lane. Please refer to the attached map.
Finally, we want to provide information regarding our YMCA Preschool classroom. Here are the details:
- We are offering preschool to students ages three - five.
- There is a half-day, or full-day option.
- Enrollment prices for half-day are $350, and for full day preschool are $525.
- Registration will occur at Back-to-School night. Or, you can register anytime on YMCA’s website.
Thank you for taking the time to review this information. If you have questions regarding these events or any other question/concern please call us at 801-737-8300.
Sincerely,
Donald Mendenhall
